Are your pets at risk of COVID-19?
Hello everyone,
With the uprise in COVID-19 cases in the community, we are sure everyone has wondered if their pets are at risk of the disease and what they should do if a suspected infection occurs.
While there have been some cases of animals contracting COVID-19 outside of Singapore, owners should not over-worry as the case numbers are rather isolated.
Owners should aim to maintain a good set of personal hygiene measures (eg. washing of hands before and after handling their pets/ pet accessories, etc). If pet owners are suspected/ confirmed to test positive for COVID-19, they should isolate themselves from their family members and their pets.
Please do note that if your household comprises of a suspected/ positive COVID-19 case and your pet urgently needs to seek veterinary attention, do arrange for a 3rd party (individuals not staying in the same house) pick-up and drop-off of your pet to our clinic. Please also give us a call beforehand to allow our staff members to prepare for your arrival. Your co-operation in doing so will allow us to work with the safety measures in place and our clinic can be open to serve the community better through this period.
